From Napkin Sketch to Innovation: Revolutionizing Portable Suction for Prehospital Care
The Problem
CRO Medical identified a performance gap in existing suction equipment resulting in an unmet need for portable suction in prehospital care.
Our Approach
We began with a collaborative brainstorming session with the client, which literally started on the back of a napkin at a coffee shop. That napkin sketch led to over a year of research and development, which consisted of iterations of design, prototyping, and testing.
The Solution
The R&D process led us to several major technological breakthroughs. These breakthroughs were carried into a formal product development phase resulting in a powerful, portable suction device that is compact, lightweight, and features disposable pump assemblies for simple and clean waste management. CRO was able to file a patent with nine separate claims based on the new technologies we developed together.
Impact
